Digital technology enables a nation state to tax much more efficiently, and therefore make taxation much more profitable. The counter force to that is something like good coin and inscription, right? If you hold all your assets and non k y c bit coin, for instence, no one knows how much money you have. You can move it anywhere. So i would expect to see a lot more efforts from centralized institutions to that effect. As they squeeze tighter, people effectively slip between their fingers into this digital ether.
