Or did that just become a nice kind of public sounding board that he could use to position himself as a free speech evangelist. Well, I think it can be both, right? It's a way to distinguish himself from what Twitter has kind of been known for and build support around this idea that he wants to buy the company but how much does he really care about it? But when you look at those text messages, he's exchanging notes with personal friends and colleagues and he's talking about this a lot.
