Lushun and the Communist Party
Initially Lushun sympathies were with the first Chinese revolution and the Republic of China it created. He gradually became more pessimistic and fell out of love with the republic. Towards the end of his life he wrote a letter congratulating the Communist Party on its long march which was an evasive maneuver they took to avoid being destroyed by the Nationalist Army. After his death he was made an honorary member of the Communist Party. That seems a bit dodgy if you ask me but yeah he was enshrined by Mao.
