When you were young, did you dream of winning the Fields Medal? No I mean there's like these legendary mathematicians that I've very much looked up to and maybe on some level was inspired by and wanted to emulate. Gauss always strikes me as this sort of amazing, frequent mathematics who just had this amazingly far-reaching deep vision which seemed completely disconnected with what other mathematicians knew at the time. Grotendyke is always a big name that comes up as a sort of revolutionary figure within mathematics. Even in more recent times individual mathematicians could have these insights that would have profound effects on the whole of mathematics. And it made me realise maths wasn't a static subject where
