The work of dr bill pluckin has been very informative to my own kind of understanding. He talks about he calls it the journey of soul descent and that he kind of says there's this like cocooning and then usually some kind of i'm going to crisis. At the bottom of that there is this he calls it like finding our mythopoetic identity, which we are invited to enact in the world. That isn't something that you have a choice in meaning if you approach it in a mature way.
