The Urim Thumim and the Prophet of the Dead Prophet Samuel

In first samuel 14, saul had been inquiring of the lord, but god wasn't taking his call. If they were using the urim thumim in those inquiries, as is likely, since the priest was there, it says a ten that mean meant the uriman thumim could fail to deliver a message from god. But the also indicates that even if you didn't interrupt the answer, god could refuse to answer anyway. That's what leads to the famous encounter with the witch, or medium of indor, who summons the spirit of the dead prophet Samuel.
