The Doubts of Hayek
Economists like political scientists should know that their discipline is not a predictive science. Hayek didn't believe anyone could see into the future and he probably also thought that most economists understood that too. He really thought that claims to knowledge had to be tested and they had to be doubted. And if there wasn't something that could reassure the doubters, they had to been discarded.
