The Three Levels of Belief

Many of us are more willing to trust our own inner intuition, or our friends or our family than we are to trust Jesus and his teachings as they come to us through the New Testament in the Bible. In doing so, we sabotage our capacity for joy and our relationship with God. We sin because we believe a lie about what will make us happy. The Catholic philosopher Michael Novak writes about three levels of belief: public belief, private belief and core belief.
