The Rebels Are Fast Approaching Up the Hill
On the afternoon of July 2nd 1863 Union soldiers defending Little Round Top feared their position was on the verge of collapse. Then Colonel Patrick O. Kelly decided to disobey orders from his direct superior, Brigadier General Warren. "Little Round Top is the key to our position if it falls the rebels will be able to place a cannon on the hilltop Our entire army will be sitting ducks," he said.
