How to Start a Writing Practice
The writer of the Little Prince has a brilliant quote that can inform our editing process. Victor Frankl, in Man's Search for Meaning, quoting Nietzsche would say that he who has a why to live for can bear almost any how. Great writers simply cannot not write. They have to write. And so I would like to leave you today with this little thought experiment: As you approach the writing process, or indeed any creative endeavor, ask yourself why. The first words one should begin with are an answer to the question why right?
