Is Your Spec Correct?

In school, people are still teaching up and coming software developers about design docs and specs. And I wonder if we should be teaching something else sometimes. Even in the cases where there is a spec and you've proven correctness with respect to the spec, you have to be really careful what the spec is. There's like making a spec is almost an anti pattern.
