The Difference in Community Ownership
Open collective is a new model of community ownership in which users control their own destiny. It's an alternative to the traditional corporation, where shareholders can only leave if they don't like how things are run. The idea behind open collective was first proposed by entrepreneur and social activist Richard Stallman last year. He says it could help people get more involved in decision-making on issues such as health care or education.
