The Value of an Edward's Crown
The idea that an object that represents royalty would be worth less than the average home in London, or New York, seems staggering. But Dr Anna Kay reminds us of one last crucial component of its value. You can just look at it from an inflationary point of view, but what that doesn't give any value to is what it's been used for. And there you really hit a brick wall when it comes to St Edward's crown and indeed the crown jewels because these are not objects that come up for sale.
