Flatworms reproduce sexually by latching on to something and then ripping themselves in half. They use electric fields to figure out whether heads or tails are missing. When cells were prevented from talking to each other electrically, they found that the half worm grew back the wrong parts. This is an amazing example of how organisms an co critical information outside their genome.
