A, I Think It's Not the Place of the Academic to Have Too Much of an Agenda
i think it shouldn't be the place of the academic, a student of language, to have too much of an agenda. And quite often i seem to see people objecting to text that they feel has a particular ideological slant. So if you're not ideologcally committed one way or the other, that maybe isn't quite as clear as if you go in with a particular analytic goal in mind. It's very difficult to decide what you should be looking for when you want to do a rhetorical analysis. Too many people just look at the metaphors and don't study them well enough.
