The Importance of Deep Learning in AI
I was really excited by it, but they said like this doesn't work. And so then I was like, Oh, there's this course on neural networks on Coursera. And I just decided to binge watch that one sort of on a whim. It does work. So from first principles, why you need to be doing deep learning or something like it somewhere in your AI system? Yeah. You go to Mila, you spend 10 years there and nobody, nobody knows about the line. But when AGI actually happens in the distant future, everything is going to get really weird and probably really messed up because we're still optimizing for what we don't know how to do.
