Putin described the Ukrainian crisis as part of quote tectonic changes in the world order that have been going on for several years now. He then dismissed accusations that Russia would use a tactical nuclear weapon calling it a fuss and blamed the UK for initiating provocations. Francis: The most interesting thing about this speech is is the manner in which it was designed clearly not to appeal to a domestic audience but to appeal to an international one. It seemed to be aimed at winning over political conservatives in inverted commas abroad rather than his own citizens talked about Russia's battle being with western elites.
