The Sound Sensory Organs of Tomato Plants

The evening primrose is able to detect the very subtle, very high frequency air vibrations made by pollinator bees flying by. The flower petals themselves function like your eardrum or the diaphragm in this microphone that I'm talking through. Maybe it's not the leaves of the tomato plant that hear the sounds, but maybe it's its own flower petals.
