International Law and the Hate Conference

International lawyers of the 1920s did not appreciate the broader multilateral issues, international law consciously phased them and gave a bilateral answer. The discussion within the hate conference reveals a number of positions on the matter which are helpful to reflect upon because they are not fundamentally different from the approaches mooted among states and members of the international law commission in the 1990s.
