Public servants and governments often don't get drug policy right, says Dr Andrew Keen. Academics see it as a simple linea, we generate empirical evidence to be given to decision makers who then choose policies based on the evidence. But that's not how policy gets made at all, he argues. The challenge is for them to have a goal around what to do about drugs so they can successfully implement those processes.
