Douglas Fur Dieback in Oregon
The news wasn't great for Douglas Furs either. Much of this dug fur dieback has been attributed to drought, some due to wildfire damage or storm damage and then subsequent opportunistic bark beetle attack. We are growing it quite densely, even in areas that are predisposed to more intense drought stress such as south facing slopes and poor sites like areas that have shallow or rocky soils.
