The attempt by the west to understand some of the central tenets of buddhism has not had a very good history. We have two approaches that people give us for how we should try and interpret buddhism. And i want to show you why even that way of putting it is perhaps incorrect. Of course, this will not be relevant just to buddhism, but for any position that exists in a different culture or history that we're trying to understand.
