Most people who come to my classes want to improve their spoken English. They realize they're going to need to use English to communicate orally. So if we just talk about that, in that context, then certainly listening and speaking are the two big skills there. And which one is more important than the other, it's really hard to say. But as I said before, if you're focusing on oral English, then listening is vital and that actually helps you with your speaking.
