The Evolution of Software Architecture

I think I try and get the same slide into any talk I do, which is software is about drawing boxes. It's just encapsulating things, making some things private and putting their own little area. And it's all just layers upon layers of the same sort of thing. This reminds me of seven billion humans that program a game, which is literally just about moving boxes around.
