I always thought I was pretty good at identifying who was ready for a leadership position. What I realized is I only saw a small portion of it. Once you let someone step up and take that leadership role, you also have to allow them to fail. It really allows everyone to feel comfortable stepping into leadership roles that they might not otherwise be willing to step into.
