The Importance of Nature in Change

Bush Adventure Therapy helped a young person cope with their codependence. They were stuck and giving up wasn't an option for them, they said. The program involved role-playing in some of these natural settings where the young person felt safe and regulated. It was reflected by the participant that these fledglings had learned from their parents how to fly, catch their own food and thrive in the world. Within a relatively short time, this person went from socially isolated and increasingly challenging to family, potential friends and themselves.
