The Confession of the Confessional Convertor

Maximus the confessor is a title of someone who under torture, duress confesses Christ. Max has the title of the confessor by his torturers or Christian. So he's a confessor even though it is technically right that he died at the hands of other Christians. And so when you look back and you read the history and you say, you know, yes, he was killed by Christians but he was defending the truth. He was confessing Christ, Christ fully and truly.
