The Difference Between Material and Immaterial Goods
St. Gregory the Great talks about the difference between material and immaterial goods or we could just say like, you know, bodily goods or corporeal goods and spiritual goods. He says with the former they offer great delight at first, but then your enjoyment of them tends to wane a little bit. The case is that this is the logic of spiritual goods: Once you come to learn what is the best, then it asserts a kind of attraction.
