Doug Yule had quickly become a hugely popular member of the band. Cessna started to manipulate Yule in exactly the same way he'd previously manipulated Reid, talking about how he was the star and should be the leader. The result is arguably the closest thing the group ever did to a commercial record. Rook and Rolle shows there's less distinction between velvet and Bruce Springsteen that fans have either might want to admit.
