Is Blackness a Political Category?
Many people who buy dana ancestry tests for themselves identifies white, but not latino. They often want to claim a certain ancestry, often native american ancestry. What these companies are telling you is that you have a likelihood of having a certain amount of your genetic markers associated with certain populations more often than others. So there's a lot of caviats there that are not always clear to test takers. But in and of itself, it doesn't tell you your race or aphnicity, right?
