KPFA is connected to lineages of the left on KPFA that we were not aware of. There is a tradition, a very broad tradition, I would say of Marxism on the West Coast which is much more broad and in many ways penetrating than elsewhere. The late Mike Davis came out of that. In the 1990s, it was a high point of much of this thinking at UC Berkeley in the geography department.
