Introduction

CNN's John Sutter asks his guests to think about two thought experiments. In the first, a giraffe is set on fire; in the second, a cat is run over by a bus. Both cases involve severe harm to an animal but have different implications for humans. If you disagree with me about either case, I do want to hear about that eventually during question times.
