Using Unutilized Bandwidth
Back in the dot com days late 90s i was working at this hot startup and what we are doing is we had this mechanism which could leverage unused bandwidths. We were able to download large chunks of data in the background by using by like leveraging the unused bandwidth so think about it if you're like browsing the web you download stuff into your browser but then you basically just read the site that you downloaded. Back then, streaming protocols were just not practicalGiven bandwidth constraints that were that existed back then they weren't effectively workable for watching video online.
