The 88 hundred was unleashed on the world in 19 74 from a company called mitz, a small new mexico outfit founded by ed roberts. It sold as a kit, bareboards, without chips or preassembled. For 439 dollars, you could get a kit with all the fixings to build a machine that included a genuine intel 80 80 processor and 256 bites of rom not kilabites.
