The Mystiogogy of Baptism
The Latin Church reserves admission to Holy Communion to those who have attained at the age of reason. There's a claiming of this one to be baptized by tracing the sign of the cross on this child's forehead and inviting parents and God's parents to do the same. The baptism of newborns, the blessing of the mother occupies a special place. And then there's also an exorcism that's in the rite of baptism because we're born under the reign of darkness,. We need to be trans transferred from the kingdom of evil to the kingdom of light.
