The Importance of Prayer Team Arguments
The prayer team argument is important in the situation you just gave because that could at first glance sound just brutal, heartless and denial of a greasy vocation. And so I think parents need to find ways to translate that in their own lives. If you're trying to take care of a nailing parent, do you always have to be at their side? The answer to that is no. There are zones of freedom here that we can and have to pursue which are actually zones of authentically loving God.
