Scientists don't know if prehistoric people really ate a lot of meat. There are lots of good studies looking at stable isotopes in the remains of Neanderthals and co-existent homo sapiens from 40 to 50,000 years ago. The hasa lived to be 70 or 80 just like us. We humans, however, have another agenda to nature. I would add to that, we also wanna live strong and not be frail.
