The Effects of Alcohol on Urine Output

The first question that comes to mind is, aren't people just urinating because they're drinking more fluid? If an equal volume of those two liquids leads to an equal amount of urine output, then kind of the episodes over, it's just a volume effect. And fortunately, this exact study was done by Margaret Murray way back in 1932. She showed that alcohol leads to a lot more urine output than the water alone. So I guess one approach would be to kind of reframe this a little bit and say that alcohol can lead to polyuria.
