TVN - The New Left Wing News Network

In 1974, Joseph Coors approached Ales with a proposition for a conservative news network. Like Nixon, he believed that the left dominated the media and the wider political establishment. Former Nixon aide Bruce Hirschinson wrote a memo to TVN staff explaining how television could be used to promote conservative viewpoints. He encouraged using commentator speculation which would appear to be factual but are actually editorialised. In one advert for Republican Mitch McConnell, Ailes attacked his opponent Walter Huddleston for being absent from key votes while away giving paid speeches.
