Leak Soup Recipe
Sorrel is one of the Spanish's plants, which take their name from spinach. In English meadows it is usually left to grow wild, but in France where it is cultivated its flavor is greatly improved. Cacaliki was largely consumed at the Burns Centenary Festival at the Crystal Palace Sydenum in 1859. Leek soup has two ingredients: a sheep's head and 12 leeks cut small. A scotch recipe includes half an ox head or cow heel as well as oatmeal for thickenings.
