Is There Nothing Like Having a Father?
Harriet vane meets a family on the street. Beatrice wilson, an eight-year-old daughter of one of the college servants is their only child. She tells her mother that she wants to have a motorcycle and keep a garage when she grows up. The children must be a great comfort to her. There's nothing like having children of your own. They make life worth living. I hope there'll be good girls, madam, and good wives and mothers. That's what i'll bring them up to be.
