Dante and Foster's Theologies and Theology of Dante in the 20th Century
Kenan Foster was himself introduced to Dante by the lay Dominican, Edward Buller. In his 1924 lecture, Buller claimed that ignorance of Aquinas' theology and philosophy leads to fundamental misunderstandings of Dante's poem. The Rebendie is not for Buller, a question of pointing out haphazard parallels between passages of the divina Commedia and statements of St Thomas. More one comes to study and understand Dante properly, the more one will be irradiated by the glorious fruits of philosophical and theological thought, the splendours of truth.
