The Man in the Middle Attack
The government can no longer or whoever is eavesdropping can no longer just listen, like don't just put their ears on the cable. They have to actually install a computer that does all the handshaking. Because of this session ID, if we communicate outside of the protocol, we can compare nodes and then we can see that there's somebody in between. Right now they can do it undetected. This is relying on an incentive for governments to not get caught doing this.
