The Bread of the Presence

The bread of the presence was removed from before the Lord in order to put hot bread in its place when it was taken away. The priest would consume it every Sabbath and then replace it with 12 more loaves, this bread of God's presence communicated sanctity to your holiness to the priest. So that's what is kind of in the background here, when he talks about taking the loaves out, putting more loaves in. It wasn't just holy in and of itself, it was most holy, meaning it conveyed holiness to those who consumed it.
