It was 55 gallon barrels from the waterfront all the way up to the airfield, because it would be until they had trucks and things like that. And then they had a hand crank fuel into the airplanes for much of the Guadalcanal campaign. Most of these guys were Ritz or Australians, you know, who are New Zealanders,. All very, very familiar with the territory.
