Is the Self an Illusion?
The notion of self is very equivocal. It can mean a lot of different things and different contexts. People who typically deny the reality of the self are defining it in a way that is metaphysically extremely demanding. To insist that this subjective anchoring is an ilusion strikes me as being about as meaningful as claiming that experience per s aluseri i ought to think that a proper account of groups and communities requires an appeal to selves. If there is no eye, no first person pospects of no self, there is no we either.
