The Evolution of Leschmaniasis
Leschmaniasis means so many different types of diseases. In this case, we're dealing with a new type of insect vector that we haven't dealt with on the podcast before and that is the sand fly. So far we have over 20 species of parasite and two whole genera of sand fly. It's going to get more because lechemoniasis affects humans but it also affects like at least a hundred other mammal species.
