There is a lot of congressional support for Ukraine, regardless of what happens with China. If it does devolve into a proxy war, I think you'll continue to see even more support. The legal justification for the student loan cancellation was a bit tenuous,. Even former Speaker Pelosi had said that Congress needed to do it.
