The Importance of Having a Right Ventricle in a Normal Heart
After a Fontan status post Fontan palliation, which is now how we'll say it. You basically don't have a right ventricle right like it might have been previously on the right side but you are now bypassing any right side of the heart. There's no resistance in the venous system there's no analog of materials on the venous side of the system. So essentially a Fontaine circulation obligates you to having a very elevated central venous pressure and that's one of the reasons why it ain't perfect.
