The Synchronicity Between Christianity and Archaic Religions

Christianity, as Gerard understands it, brings religion full circle. It incorporates the achievement of Judaism, but returns to the older pattern of myth in order to make contact with people where they are. So long as social order depends on the dark alchemy of sacrifice, humanity lies within the power of what the New Testament calls Satan. Jesus takes his stand within this kingdom, submitting to it in order to lead people out of it.
